User enters lettering mode by clicking the ABC icon on the left toolbar (shortcut key CTRL–T). Using one of these commands in active window will trigger lettering mode. If you have active command running, shortcut key will not work until you exit your command. Exit any active command by pressing the Escape key.
Once the mode is active, ABC icon turns red, cursor icon in the drawing changes color to yellow, mouse cursors icon changes and lettering toolbar appears below the Main menu.
Click on any location in the window to start writing. Notice the letters blink and change color (yellow to blue). This means you are still can make text changes.
As long as the letters are blinking, you can write or delete any new letters. To finish your writing, click the left mouse button anywhere in the active window or press the Enter key. The letters will no longer blink. At this point you will also not be able to change the type of font. With the mark tool you will be able to modify the size of each letter individually or all together.
TIP: When you activate the lettering mode, you can start typing without selecting the input point. This way you can move letters while typing and select their location.
Over the letters, user might notice small locks on each letter.
These locks enable / disable letters movement. Every letter has its own lock. By double clicking the left mouse button locks / unlocks the letter. The right button click of the mouse will bring of a context menu
Lock option gives option to lock all letters in single lettering or only one word.
Unlock option allows a bit more options than the lock menu. User can unlock all letters in single lettering or only single word. Unlock is also available before or after selected letter.
Mark option marks the selected letter or whole word in a single lettering
When you are done with editing, leave the lettering command by pressing the Escape key and double click the ABC icon to exit the mode.
